Circus Oz has for many years engaged in issues associated with social justice and a good time for all. This has taken many forms including benefits and tickets for those suffering from AIDS, indigenous Australians, the Starlight Foundation, homeless shelters, victims of domestic violence, families living on housing commission estates, the Red Cross, the Royal Children's Hospital, Anglicare Kids in Crisis and other similar programs.

Circus Oz has also had a long-standing connection with refugees and asylum seekers including workshops at detention centres, providing tickets and the raising of over $250,000 in donations to support refugees and asylum seekers. If you would like to help Circus Oz continue our efforts to promote tolerance, diversity and human kindness visit our Support Circus Oz page for information on making tax free donations.

Below are some organisations that we think are worth supporting.

Variety, the children's charity
Variety, the children's charity
Variety, The Children's Charity is dedicated to transforming the lives of children with special needs.

Variety provides grants to individuals, organisations and hospitals for a great number of items as well as providing Sunshine Coaches to special schools and organisations so that kids can get out and about in the sunshine and experience life. Variety also provide children special experiences such as parties and adventure camps to give them opportunities that able bodied kids may take for granted.

Although the work Variety undertakes is serious, they never forget the importance of having fun and bringing smiles to the faces of a great number of special kids and those that are helping them.

Asylum Seekers Resource Centre
Asylum Seekers Resource Centre
The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre aims to protect and uphold the human rights, wellbeing and dignity of asylum seekers by providing Aid, Empowerment, Justice and Community programs. We are an independent, registered, non-governmental agency working at the coal face with some of our community's most vulnerable people.

Since opening our doors in June 2001, the ASRC has become the largest provider of aid, advocacy and health services for asylum seekers in Australia. ASRC works directly with asylum seekers, both living in our community and detention, to provide direct aid and support as they seek refugee status in Australia. The ASRC has assisted over 7000 people seeking asylum and provided more than 1 million hours of free help, vowing to turn no person in need away.

Most importantly, at times of despair and hopelessness, we are there to offer comfort, friendship, hope and respite.
